Brainstorm STEAM Lab coming to Wake Forest Community House!

If your child loved engineering, testing variables, and solving hands-on challenges, we have some exciting news. You don't have to wait for the next major camp session to keep those cognitive muscles working!

Starting this September, we are launching a brand-new series of Single-Day Wednesday Makerspace Classes right here at the Wake Forest Community House!

These 1-hour, high-yield classes are tailor-made for K-5 students who want to dive deep into physics, chemistry, and engineering logic without the screen time.

What's Coming to the Lab:

  • The Balloon-Powered Chassis: Designing custom recycled axles and debugging alignment to master thrust vs. friction.

  • The Penny Saver Rafts: Exploring fluid displacement, surface area, and cargo balance using foil and water testing bins.

  • Surface Tension Speedboats: Using dish soap as a surfactant to chemically propel custom-built miniature boats across water runways.

  • The Index Card Structural Challenge: A zero-tape engineering matrix where kids must learn to slot and fold materials to build seismic-resistant towers.

How to Grab a Spot

Because we keep our class sizes small to ensure every student gets a hands-on workspace and individualized coaching, slots fill up incredibly fast.

Registration officially opens August 1st via the Wake Forest RecDesk portal!

Keep a close eye on your inbox for the direct signup links, and let’s get ready to plan, build, fail, and Pivot our way to success this fall!
